We keep this notice plain because privacy information should be easy to understand. It is written for the current Britannic & Balkan website and the Pitlane app.

Who this notice covers

This Privacy Policy explains how Britannic & Balkan handles personal information when you use this website, contact us, or use Pitlane and related product services.

Pitlane can be used locally on your device. Some features, such as account-backed sync, require a free account or a premium subscription.

Information you provide

If you contact us, we may collect your name, email address, company name, message, and any other details you choose to include.

If you create a Pitlane account, we may process your email address, account identifier, authentication provider details, and, where you choose to provide it, your name.

If you use Pitlane, you may choose to store information about cars, track days, sessions, lap counts, best lap times, track conditions, notes, packing lists, car checklists, expenses, and car photos.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites and apps, our services may receive technical information such as IP address, device type, browser or app version, operating system, pages visited, referring pages, and approximate usage times.

Online identifiers such as IP addresses and cookie identifiers can be personal data where they identify or can be linked to an individual.

How we use information

We use personal information to respond to messages, provide and improve the website and Pitlane, operate accounts, provide sync, manage subscriptions, troubleshoot issues, prevent misuse, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use Pitlane track-day records to make automated decisions about you.

If we send product updates or marketing messages, we will only do so where we have an appropriate basis to contact you, and you can ask us to stop.

Pitlane data and sync

Pitlane stores track-day data locally on your device. If you sign in and enable account-backed sync, selected app data is synced through cloud services so it can be backed up and available across devices.

Account sync may include cars, track days, sessions, packing templates, checklist items, expenses, and car photos. Data linked to a signed-in account is associated with your account identifier.

Deleting a Pitlane account removes account-backed data controlled by the app. Local data may remain on your device unless you delete it from the app or your device storage.

Payments and app stores

Pitlane Premium subscriptions are handled through Apple's in-app purchase system. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

Apple may process purchase, subscription, tax, refund, and account information under its own terms and privacy policy.

Service providers

We use trusted service providers to run the website and app, such as hosting, authentication, cloud database, app store, email, and related infrastructure providers.

These providers process information only where needed to provide their services to us or to you. For Pitlane, this includes Firebase services for authentication and cloud sync, Sign in with Apple where used, and Apple StoreKit for subscriptions.

This website may use essential cookies or similar technologies needed for security, routing, and basic operation.

If we add non-essential analytics or marketing cookies, we will explain this and request consent where required. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.

Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to respond and maintain a reasonable record of the conversation. Account-backed Pitlane data is kept while your account is active unless deleted earlier.

No website, app, cloud service, or device storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You can choose not to create a Pitlane account and use supported local features without account-backed sync.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information.

To exercise privacy rights or ask a question, contact us using the details below. If you are in the UK, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
